About Nazia Ansari
I am an education consultant who has been working in the field of special education since 2006. I have worked in Kenya with a number of international schools and as a consultant to companies who support neuro-diverse students and am currently based in Leicester, United Kingdom.
While in Kenya, I taught at a local college which involved training pre-service and in-service teachers about inclusive education and offered my services to companies who look to train their staff on working with neuro-diverse students. I have also developed a number of training modules and assessment tools for professionals to use in their efforts to support students with needs. I have also advised and consulted with schools shadows, teachers and teaching assistants.
As part of my services, I have worked on a one-to-one basis with students who need support in the mainstream setting. This has involved identifying learning gaps that need to be developed and contribute to them having meaningful learning experiences.
I have vast experience in working in ABA- Applied Behavioural Analysis and am pursuing my qualifications of working as an RBT tutor. This has contributed largely to the knowledge and skills I possess in relation to supporting students with needs.
I am in the process of completing my Masters Degree in Inclusive Education with particular focus on teacher training needs with the aim of improving inclusive education.
I am passionate about advocating for neuro-diverse students in the mainstream setting by working with the learners themselves as well as supporting and training teachers about inclusion. This includes training them on strategies, goal setting, understanding learning needs and how to manage the students’ needs without feeling overwhelmed. I am also interested in supporting teachers in developing resources for students so as to increase their resources and knowledge related to inclusion.
